Singularity: A Minimalist Celebration of Global Architecture

The inspiration behind Singularity is a simple yet profound appreciation of architecture as art. Mueller's photographs do not merely document structures; they invite viewers to see these buildings in a new light, devoid of their usual urban context. The result is a collection of images that simultaneously provoke curiosity about the unseen surroundings and offer a moment of restful contemplation.

What sets Singularity apart is its deliberate isolation of each building. By removing the surrounding urban environment, Mueller places each structure on a metaphorical pedestal, akin to a sculpture in a clean gallery or museum. This approach emphasizes the unique aesthetic qualities of each building, transforming them into standalone pieces of art.

The creation of each photograph in the Singularity series involves careful planning and technical precision. Mueller uses a full-frame Nikon D800E camera and a combination of 35mm and Nikkor 12-24mm lenses. Post-production work is done in Adobe Lightroom, where Mueller applies a color gradient based on the original sky colors in the picture and adds grain to enhance the singularity effect.

The photographs are available in two sizes: 30 x 40cm (limited to 10 pieces) and 60 x 80cm (limited to 5 pieces). They can be purchased either framed or mounted on alu-Dibond behind matte plexiglas. The series includes images of buildings from various locations worldwide, including New York, Hong Kong, England, Spain, France, and Germany.

Despite the technical challenges of finding the right angle and minimizing distractions, Mueller's dedication to his craft and his passion for architecture shine through in every image. Singularity is a testament to his belief that buildings are artworks in their own right, deserving of individual attention and appreciation.
